Brendan Wilson

8th Dan Grand Master Black Belt

Founders

Brendan Wilson is a filmmaker, author and martial artist.  He has trained in the martial arts since 1974, and holds 8th degree black belts in Tae Kwon Do, Sungjado and Aristos; and a 4th degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. He is a retired Army Officer and former U.S. army ranger.  During his military service he coached a number of military martial arts competition teams, and trained close protection units in weapons disarming techniques. In 2009, he won the silver medal in the US Open Taekwondo championships. He is the author of a number of articles, including those on terrorism, military strategy and martial arts. He holds a PhD in international relations, an MBA and a BS in economics.

 

Sonia Mei Ling Wilson is a filmmaker, author and martial artist. She holds 4th degree black belts in Tae Kwon Do and Aristos; and a 3rd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. 

 

Together the Wilsons founded Aristos, a martial art based on Korean hard style techniques and the philosophy of ancient Greece. They are also co-founders of El Oso Diablo Productions, LLC, a film making company. They have served as executive producers for several award-winning short films.
